Axel attended the "An evening with Jon Lord" show on November 15th at the Philharmonie in Essen, Germany and met Mr. Jon Lord and Doogie White after the show.
THE CREST DELUXE EDITION
During our last shows I extended the guitar solo of the epic track “Dreaming Dead” and it was very well received by the audience. So as the idea came up from SPV, to release some kind of a “Special Edition” of “The Crest”, I entered the studio in September to record the “extended guitar solo” for “Dreaming Dead”. I think this new longer version makes this song, which is one of my favorites, even more epic and I really think that you´ll be more than satisfied too.
Also a lot of people kept on asking for another Live album, so we decided to give this bonus on Disk 2 to you in form of the audio files from our last DVD “One Night Live”, which was recorded at the “Rock OF Ages” Festival in July 2009.
This new release will be a Digipack with a larger 24 page booklet and includes new photos too. It will be released by SPV on NOVEMBER 19th in Germany and NOVEMBER 22nd in Europe.

We really had a blast at our 2 summer shows playing at the MOR Festival in the Czech Republic and the "Oxygen" in Bad Endbach during July. We´re very much lookiung forward to the next part of "The Crest Tour". Hope to see you there !

As a lot of you already noticed.... "The Crest" is available on double Vinyl since July and contains the Live Bonus track "Snake Eyes", taken from the "Knights Live" CD.

R.I.P. RONNIE JAMES DIO
We´re totally shocked and sad about the loss of a true legend and one of the nicest guys in the whole Music business. Our deepest condolences to Ronnie James Dio´s family and friends."Ronnie was and ever will be one of my heroes. I remember when he said "Axel my son, let me hug you" at the beginning of last years Heaven & Hell German Tour, where we´d been the special guests. It was such a great honor for us to open for them and we really enjoyed the tour. I met Ronnie a couple of times during the last ten years and he always was very friendly and nice to me, my wife and my band...
Ronnie... thank you so much for all your music, lyrics, inspirations and friendship, you will live on forever in my heart and in my music. Someday we will meet in Heaven or Hell..."

Axel Rudi Pell will release the brandnew studio album called "The Crest" via SPV on April 26th 2010 (Germany: April 23rd 2010). It will feature 10 brandnew songs which run approx. 57 min. "This is definately our Masterpiece so far, it has everything to become a real classic in the long ARP history ! A record packed with energy and emotions ! In a few weeks we will put one complete track on this site for your listening pleasure, so stay tuned !" Axel and the band will start their next tour in May. "We will split the tour in different sections, so the dates for MAY are only the first part. We will definately do more shows in the fall around October and a few summer dates as well"! NEW DVD AND NEW ALBUM UPDATE
A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL ! We´re very sorry that it took so long for another News update, but the Band still´s working on the new CD. "This will be definately our masterpiece! Everybody in the band is so excited about the new songs and I really can say that it will be our best album by far. The recordings are completely finished now and Charlie Bauerfeind and I will finish the mix next week. In the meantime enjoy the new DVD called "ONE NIGHT LIVE - Live at the Rock Of Ages Festival 2009" which will be released in Germany on February 19th and in the rest of the world on February 22nd 2010. As the title says it features our complete 75 min. performance of last year´s Rock Of Ages Festival in Germany. We definately didn´t do any overdubs, so what you hear and see is what really happened that night, with all the mistakes and "blue" notes ! But that´s Liv(f)e !!!"

DVD COMING, STUDIO RECORDING SOON
"I´m still in the process of getting the finishing touches to the new songs. We will be in the studio for the recordings starting at the end of November. All I can say is that I´m damn proud of the new material, a few of the best songs I ever wrote.
There will be a new DVD coming out this year, called "ONE NIGHT LIVE" and will feature our complete performance of this years´s "Rock Of Ages" Festival. Stay tuned for the cover and the release date very soon."
